Cynthia
McCoy is the owner of two businesses -
A Pet’s World Academy
for Pet Sitters and Aunt Cynthia's Bed & Biscuit Inn.
The businesses are based out of Loomis, CA. A Pet’s World Academy has now
evolved into an online pet sitter certification program on
www.apetsworldacademy.comTo date, over 150 people have gone through her training program and have created their own careers in the pet care industry. They are raising the bar of excellence as well-trained, professional pet sitting business owners. Cynthia has been asked to speak at local Rotary Clubs and also has given a radio interview locally. Several newspapers have written articles about her Academy; the New York Times had a feature article about A Pet’s World Academy in the August 3rd, 2003, New Jersey Edition. Other newspapers which featured A Pet’s World Academy include the Placer Herald, Sacramento Bee, and Loomis News. In 2001 and 2002, Cynthia McCoy was nominated for Pet Sitter of the Year by Pet Sitters International. She has been a speaker at a Groom Expo in Hershey, Pennsylvania, on the Pleasures, Pitfalls and Profits in the pet sitting industry. In November of 2003, Cynthia was awarded the Outstanding Woman Business Leader trophy by the National Association of Women Business Owners. Senator Barbara Boxer also recognized Cynthia for her accomplishments. Cynthia was honored to be a Guest Panelist at the 2004 NAPPS Convention held in Philadelphia, PA. In 2006, Cynthia flew to Florida to receive a Finalist Award as Enterprising Woman of the Year, sponsored by Enterprising Women.
